Welcome to the Wellesley Cinema, Wellington.
The Wellesley was built in 1937, it is in the traditional
Art Deco style of that period, the auditorium seats 400
people on two levels, 250 downstairs "STALLS" and 150 upstairs
"CIRCLE" which has raked stadium seating, and provides a
little more comfort and greater leg-room. The Wellesley
is now operated under Private Independent Management, many
improvements have been carried out in recent times, including
the installation of a brand new - Projection Equipment in
March 2003, in February 2006 we installed the latest Multi
Media projection equipment which now allows us to screen
films in ALL formats, 35mm, 16mm, dvd, video and satellite
links, we have also installed an induction loop system in
the circle area, all as part of our policy of continuous
upgrading.
Disabled Access - There are five steps with handrail to the main foyer which gives access to the refreshment kiosk, stalls and a unisex toilet. Please call ahead if wheelchair assistance is required.

Sunday afternoons.
Parking is available, onstreet, just outside the theatre. There is in addition a pay and display car park just 300 metres away.
